Reality Check

Today’s picnic was super fun.

I got up early and picked up Melissa so we could grocery shop. Melissa said it was our  “training to be wives.” We bought the necessary ingredients (and some not-so-necessary ones…) and went back to her house to make Filipino Spaghetti.

At Independence Grove, we just hung around, played some games, ate - you know, picnic activities.

While sitting on the dock, it hit me that people are moving in next week; as in, seven days; as in, 168 hours! This was probably the last time I would see some of these people. Some for a couple months, others for longer.  It makes me sad to think that all of it is coming to a close - high school, summer, this chapter of my life. Soon, we’ll have to be adults: jobs, responsibilities, loans to pay off…

I wish time would slow down, just for a little bit, and let me catch up.
